I hope that everyone has had a restful weekend. Tomorrow is going to be a hard day as we will have to say good bye to a few members of our 1F Keay class. The reason for this is the numbers of students throughout the primary and junior divisions at Lakeshore. Our 1F Keay class is being reorganized to a Grade 1/2 split class. There will be an assembly in the morning and the students that have to leave our room to make room for the Grade 2 students coming in will be taken to their new Grade 1 homeroom and introduced to their new teacher and classmates first thing in the morning. Last week I did let the students know that there were going to be changes to our room, but until late on Friday, I was not entirely sure what those changes were going to look like. I will do my best to make this transition for your children (as all will be affected either by leaving room 135 or by greeting Grade 2 friends coming in) as smooth as possible. If your child is leaving our room, there will be a personalized letter from the office letting you know and all changes will be in effect on Tuesday of this week. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact myself or the school.
Reorganization is not easy and has come down to numbers of students in each room.
I am incredibly sad that I have to say good bye to some of my new friends in room 135 and I want you to all know that if there is anything that I can do to continue to support you or your child this year, please don't hesitate to contact me!
I know that regardless of who your child's' teacher is, they will have a WONDERFUL year in Grade 1!!
Madame Keay
