Hi everyone!

I just wanted to touch base...

No baby yet... I'll keep you posted!

Last week was Mme Petruniak's first week with the class! From what I've heard, the kids and Mme Petruniak had a super week together. It was busy, fun and exciting! I was thrilled to meet her last Wednesday and I can assure you that the class is in great hands. I'm really looking forward to hearing more about their progress and seeing the evidence of their learning with Mme Petruniak!

I know that if you have any questions she'll be able to answer them for you.

I will post on this blog again once there is baby news to share. Until then thank you for all of the positive thoughts! I can't wait to see the kids again either. I miss them, their smiles, and quirks so much already! Please let them know that they are on my mind!

Thank you also for touching base with me during interviews it was really great to chat with everyone again in person.

Take care and I'll be in touch,

Madame Keay

Sadly, the time has come...

As the title of this post suggests I am leaving on maternity leave sooner than expected. I had originally hoped to be able to work until the 30th of November. Unfortunately, Baby Keay has changed these plans and my OB is informing me that I have to be done work no later than November 16th. He wanted me to be finished last Friday, but I insisted on finishing the term to interviews with my students.
Baby Keay is healthy and growing fine but my health is declining and I have been having some complications that need to be addressed. I am now 36 weeks along and will likely deliver pre-term.

My last day with my wonderful class will be Thursday, November 15th. I will be present for interviews on Thursday evening as it stands right now. Should this change as this week progresses I will be in touch to let you know and to chat with you via telephone. If you don't hear from me, please assume that I will be present at interviews and come in to meet with me to discuss your child's progress. I am looking forward to meeting with you Thursday!

I know that everyone (including myself) are wondering who will be replacing me for the remainder of this school year. That is still to be determined. The hiring process has begun and I will inform you via the blog as soon as I know who the permanent occasional teacher for the remainder of the school year will be.

I know that the kids will be fine, they have each other, they all have wonderfully supportive parents, and they have many established routines and practices in place to help guide them through this transitional time. I will be in communication with the occasional teacher to make sure that questions are answered and that the kids' individual needs are being met. If you have any further questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me at school this week.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your wonderful children with me this fall! They are a truly wonderful, talented and amazing group! I'm really going to miss seeing their smiling, loving faces every day. They have touched my heart permanently!  They will always be part of my family and I look forward to seeing their growth over the course of this year.

Sincerely,
Madame Keay

Yet another correction...I do sincerely apologize!!

Dear parents,

Please accept my sincerest of apologies as I have to make yet another date correction. I truly am an organized person, but can’t seem to get it together this year with this Halloween Potluck! The actual date of the Halloween Potluck is OCTOBER 31st. I know I sent home a letter indicating that it was the 30th, and on the October calendar it says it is the 31st. OCTOBER 31st is the correct date, as October 30th is when I will be participating in some professional development activities and will be out of the classroom for an instructional block that day making it hard to host a potluck for the kids during the middle instructional block to culminate our learning about healthy eating habits and food choices.
I do sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused and thank you for your understanding. Please make the appropriate changes on your Potluck Note and please send in your potluck items for OCTOBER 31st. Your child will require you to provide a lunch on October 30th.
Sincerely,
Madame Keay

Sorry for the delay with this!
Thanks for your patience!

Halloween Potluck Letter

I guess it's official I am severely suffering from terrible baby brain! Everyone makes mistakes and I apologize for this one. Please recycle the Halloween potluck letter that came home today. There are 2 errors...the dates are wrong and I forgot to highlight what each child needs to bring in for our potluck. I will send home a corrected version tomorrow.
My apologies and thank you for your patience!
